One big cutie!

I just love these pictures of Vince! He's getting so big already and is becoming so much fun to play with! One of his new past times is apparently drooling because he's doing a lot of it! My lucky picture caught this stream from his mouth down to his shirt. Silly boy!

Superbowl Sunday

This was Vince's 1st Superbowl Sunday and although he didn't stay awake for much of it, he did watch some of the game with his daddy.

Yes, it does seem unusual that Brian is so calm during a game. I must have caught them at a good time!

And yes that is a doll in the background. We were at a friend's house who has little girls. :-)

Latest milestones...

It seems like Vince has been hitting milestones like crazy lately! On Jan 26 he flipped a switch and started sleeping through the night - anywhere from 5 1/2 to 8 1/2 uninterrupted hours so far. YEA!!!
A couple weeks ago he started sucking on his fingers. He's been soothing himself this way and apparently having a great time as well, although it does keep him awake so we have to pull them out and put a pacifier in. It's getting very hard to keep those fingers out of his mouth! Last night when I came home from a meeting, Vince apparently had finally found the football we have dangling from his carseat because he was locked in on it. Brian and I both tried to talk to him and get his attention and he completely ignored us!

Recently we received this Baby Einstein play gym - which Vince LOVES! Finally something that he really enjoys! So far he's not very happy in the swing, Pack n Play, on his tummy time mat, or with any other toys, so it's nice to finally find something that can keep him occupied for a longer period of time! Anyway, this morning I had him on the mat for a little while and realized he was swatting at the toys, and even grabbed one! I missed it the first time, but he grabbed it again and I got this picture.

Next week our little man will hit his 4 month birthday - time has seriously flown by!

All smiles

Lately I've been able to catch some really big smiles from Vince. I think he's the happiest first thing in the morning after his long sleep (before he realizes how hungry he is), but he does smile throughout the day as well. These are a few of my favorites!

Our little man

Believe it or not, at 3 months Vince is still fitting into newborn sized clothes! I think Target's Winnie the Pooh outfits must be mis-labeled because this and another outfit are WAY too big for a newborn. Don't get me wrong, we're not squeezing him into any other newborn sized clothes - this is the only newborn outfit he can fit into right now. Anyway, here he is in his little man outfit ready for church! and yes, he did wear socks and shoes, just not for the picture. :-) Our little guy sure is smiling a lot lately and we love it! It's hard to catch with the camera though so I was glad I got this one. He was also all smiles yesterday morning when I put him in his Bumbo chair for the first time. He was quite content sitting there for quite a while - he gets sick of everything else pretty quickly (the swing, the floor, his rocking chair, the Pack n Play, etc).
I took him in to the doc yesterday and had him weighed. At 3 months he's 13 lbs 13 oz. That's almost 2 lbs in 1 month! The boy knows how to eat! :-)

New Years in Idaho

By Dec 30 the weather had let up a bit. Assuming that our house probably wouldn't become damaged further during the week ahead, we decided to make a belated Christmas flight to Boise to see family and introduce Vince to everyone. Vince had his 2 month appt on the 31st so we flew that evening. Here are some pictures from our trip.
I had gotten him out of his car seat and was holding him with my nursing wrap at my side and his binkie in my other hand, ready for the baby cries as we took off... and he SLEPT right through it! He actually slept the ENTIRE flight!
We don't make a habit of co-sleeping, but I thought this picture was too cute not to share!
Vince snoozing in Aunt Melissa's arms - getting kicked by his cousin who is due to arrive in May. Can't wait to meet her!
This may not look that significant, but this is the first time Vince has actually slept laying flat! He's been in a bouncy/vibrating chair for the incline since we brought him home. In fact, laying him flat is how we'd wake him up early on so that he would continue eating because he always fell asleep in the middle of meal time. Hopefully this means we can transition him to his crib mattress soon! (He does still prefer the chair.)
We had a great visit with John and Sarah. Sarah's holding Vince and John's holding their "baby" basset hound "Addy".
Vince and his Great Grandma.
3-generation pic. My Mom was supposed to come too but wasn't able to due to the bad weather. We'll hopefully get a 4-generation pic later this year.

Out cold in Aunt Sandi's arms. Meeting Aunt Robbin and cousin Samuel.

Meeting cousin Arika.

Cuddling with Mommy - Sunday morning.
Cuddling with Grandma.
Having lunch with Jodi. Not only did she get to meet Vince, but we got to meet her boyfriend Joe. It was great catching up with Jodi and meeting Joe!

Chillin' in his hoody from Grandma.

Vince's 2nd flight - again slept the whole way! I left him in his car seat this time and he was out cold the entire time. Our flight was even delayed from leaving for an hour while they used the de-icers. We got out right as another winter storm was hitting Boise. Good thing we got the early morning flight!

Hopefully we'll make another trip to Boise soon to see the rest of our friends and family that we missed this time... and to get two 4-generation pictures (my side and Brian's) taken. If we time it right, we'll also be able to meet Vince's new little cousin (arriving in May)! I'll keep you posted. :-)

Finishing off December

Just after Christmas we got together with some friends for a guys poker night / girls baby night. Vince liked all the attention. :-) Sorry I'm a bit late with this.
Here's Vince and his friend Savannah who is only 3 weeks younger than him. I love the little reindeer feet on this outfit!
being held by his pal Amy.
On Dec 31 we were finally able to get Vince in for his 2 month appt - previous appts had been cancelled due to the crazy weather. He got his immunizations which pretty much knocked him out for the rest of the day (made flying to Boise really easy! more on that later). We also got his weight and measurements - so at 10 weeks he was 12 lbs 2 oz (50th percentile) and 21.75" long. He's getting so big, we're starting the transition out of newborn sized clothes to 0-3 months! His Christmas outfits are 0-3 mo.
